Baena is located right in the center of Andalusia, the Mediterranean heart of Southern Spain’s best olive groves and one of the main olive oil producing areas in Spain. Baena gives its name to the Designation of Origin Baena, the oldest and most important certification of origin in Spain.
Baena houses one of the most important museums about Olive Oil in the world: located right in the center of the city, with an exhibition area of over 800m² and a wide range of exhibits, many dating to the mid-19th century, it exemplifies how central for this region Olive Oil is.
